Ramon F. Swallow, age 85, passed away July 5, 2018, at 12:15 pm, at the Dover Manor in Georgetown, KY. Ramon was born on September 15, 1932 in Lima, OH, to Glenn F. Swallow and Lela (Richard) Swallow-Brubaker who preceded him in death. On September 23, 1950 he married Helen E. (Brinsfield) Swallow who preceded him in death on September 7, 2012.
Ramon had worked for 30 years as a pipefitter and held positions as estimator and eventually superintendent with the Local #776 Plumber and Pipefitters from which he retired in 1994. After he retired, he had served as the Pastor of the Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren and Chaplain of the Lima Memorial Hospital for 10 years. Ramon was a member of the NRA and the Sabres Gun Club.
Ramon is survived by his 2 sons: William F. Swallow of Findlay, OH and Keith (Judy) Swallow of Georgetown, KY, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and a brother, Richard (Lois) Swallow of Wapakoneta, OH. He was preceded in death by2 brothers: Jack and Robert Swallow and a daughter in-law, Rhonda Swallow.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren. Officiating the service will be Mike Huffaker. Burial will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery following the service.
Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL and from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday at the church.
