Robert Lee “Bob” Ludwig, 82, of Lima, passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, at his home.

Bob was born Dec. 25, 1939, in Hancock County, to Paul and Bernice (Painter) Ludwig.

Bob worked for Plumber and Pipefitters Union until his retirement and he was a member of the union for 55 years. After his retirement, he built Kala’s Greenhouse where he was the owner and operator for 17 years. Bob was a member of Masonic Lodge # 804 in Mt. Cory and he was a life member of Moose Lodge # 199 in Lima. He enjoyed gardening, going for a nice drive, and he always kept busy and had a story to tell. Bob will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived by three daughters, Debbie Meeks, Lonnie Ludwig, and Christina (Mario) Ludwig-Moralez; stepson, Edgar (Patty) Vallez; daughter-in-law, Cheri Ludwig; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Ludwig; and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Ludwig.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; son, Greg Ludwig; sister, Kay Eileen Bradigan; and two brothers, Russell Ludwig and Wayne Ludwig.

Bob’s funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Burial will be at Hasson Cemetery following the service.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022, at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will be at 7:30 p.m.
