R. Dean Smith, 85, passed away March 26, 2024, at 8:13 pm, Lima Memorial Health System, surrounded by his loving family. Dean was born December 12, 1938 in Lima, OH, to Ralph and Eileen (Focht) Smith who preceded him in death. On September 22, 1958 he married Joyce (Marker) Smith who preceded him in death on December 9, 2016. Dean graduated from Bath High School in 1957. He was a lifelong member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union #776. Dean volunteered many hours at the Genealogy Club of Allen County. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and also working on everyone's house projects. Dean is survived by his children, Greg (Carole) L. Smith of Lima, OH, Tony (Susan) W. Smith of Lima, OH, Ronald (Shari) E. Smith of Lima, OH, Richard D. Smith of Hollywood, CA, ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Smith and brother-in-law, Blair Smith. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:00am at Chiles - Laman Funeral Homes, Eastside Chapel. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 9:00am to 11:00am at the Eastside Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Warren Lee Rumer, 92, passed away peacefully at his home on November 11, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Norma Jean, as well as his “kids,” Emily (Jake) Stone, Bryce (Sarah) Goodrich, Hayley (Matthew) McKirahan, Ashleigh (Justin) Klinger-DePrekel and Cory (Tuyen) Klinger. Warren was preceded in death by his son, Christopher. Warren was the quiet force in a home that was full of love and excitement as the children grew up. He worked for several years as a pipe fitter. Paul F. Robbins, age 85 of Lima, passed at 5:22 p.m., Monday, January 22, 2024 at Lima Memorial Health Care. He was born August 24, 1938 in Bourne, MA to the late John David and Bessie Corinne Paine Robbins. On September 25, 1960 he married Mary L. O’Donnell who survives in Lima. After graduating, Paul enlisted in the U.S. Marines and later served in the U.S. Army. He retired as a plumber and pipefitter from the Local Union 776 of Lima. Paul was an active member of the Lima Eagles and Elks. He had a hobby of collecting coins and enjoyed the occasional thrill of gambling. Born in Massachusetts, he was a passionate sports enthusiast, particularly devoted to the Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, and the Boston Bruins. He found joy in cheering for these teams and memorable moments with fellow fans. It’s important to note that Paul held a unique perspective when it came to what he liked. He was not a fan of the New England Patriots or J.J. and this playful difference added a touch for friendly rivalry to his interactions with family. The family held a special place in Paul’s heart, and he loved them dearly. His joy in life included taking trips to Buzzards Bay, MA and the Cape, creating treasured moments with his loved ones. Paul will be remembered for his dedication, love for family, and the joy he brought to others. He leaves behind a legacy of service, passion, and cherished memories. He is also survived by his 2 children – Paul A. (Sarah Renner) Robbins of Marrow, OH; Jacqueline S. (John) Strange of Cridersville; 5 grandchildren – Cierra, Makenzie, Samantha, Colton, and Penny; 10 great grandchildren; 2 brothers – John (Lorraine) Robbins of Seekonk, MA; Dennis (Claudine) Robbins of Buzzards Bay, MA; 2 sisters – Kathy Palomba of FL; and Ann Knocker. He was preceded in death by a great granddaughter – CeCe Harding; 2 brothers – George (Shirley) Robbins; Jason Robbins; 3 sisters – Virginia, Jeanne, and Shirley. A memorial service will begin 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 29, 2024 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. Tom Miller will officiate. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. Military rites will be observed by V.F.W. Post 1275 of Lima The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Michael P. Dorley, age 72 of Lima, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, at 2:27 p.m. at his residence. Mike was born December 5, 1950 in Lima to Patrick and Mary (McAuliffe) Dorley who preceded him in death. On November 21, 1970 he married Diane Clancy Dorley who preceded him in death on June 14, 2012. Survivors include their children: Dan (Michael) Dorley and Angie (Marc) Bowker both of Lima and Mike C. Dorley of Dayton; grandsons: Conner (Courtney) Bowker, Ethan Bowker and Kevin Bowker; and his siblings: Sheila Baldwin of Atlanta, GA, Trish (Joe) Edd of Charlotte, NC, Monica Dorley of Lima, Maureen Dorley of Rochester, NY, and a sister-in-law, Tania Dorley of Ottawa, Canada. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by their son, Doug A. Dorley, the following siblings, Anne M. Dorley, Tim Dorley, and a niece Mara Baldwin. Mike had been a pipefitter for Local #776 for 40 years. He was a 1969 graduate of L.C.C. High School. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. He was a volunteer at St. Charles School cafeteria and St. Charles Church for the funeral luncheons. He had also been an usher at The Civic Center. His Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 21, 2023 at St. Charles Catholic Church. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery following the service. George D. Lino, age 86, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 24, 2023. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Phyllis; three children, Brian (Julie) Lino, Shalene (Scott) Germani, and Brooke (Shaun) Davis; as well as his sister, Colette (Jim) MacDonald. He had five loving grandchildren, Anthony (Alisha), Jamie, and Troy Lino, Drew and Reed Davis; and one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Lino. George was preceded in death by his parents, George Dominic and Catherine Agnes (Murphy) Lino; and his niece, Cathy Sue Branum. George was born in Denver, Colorado, and grew up in Canyon City. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1955, serving for 3 years on the USS Diamond Head. Upon honorable discharge, he then enlisted in the US Army in 1958, serving his country for an additional 3 years. George's proudest memories were of his many jumps as a paratrooper – "Just say airborne!" and "Tuck and roll!" were phrases his kids heard anytime they faced life's challenges. George's experience in the service played a very important role in his life, igniting a love for travel and meeting people. If you knew George, you know he never met a stranger. Once you had looked him in the eye and shaken his hand, you were always referred to as "my good friend, so-and-so." He made it a point to stay in touch with many of those good friends over the years and especially enjoyed reunions with his veteran and high school friends. Though he was not one to use the internet, he was quite resourceful and enjoyed tracking down lost friends to reconnect. George married Phyllis A. Daniels in Denver on July 11, 1970. He began a new career as a deep-sea diver and underwater welder attending school in Long Beach, California then traveling to New Orleans, Louisiana to work in the oil fields. He next worked in Africa and later Roanoke, Virginia, and Troy, Ohio as a pipefitter/welder, before settling in Toledo in 1980. George was a proud member of Pipefitters Union #776 based out of Lima for many years – he still attended Union meetings until his passing and enjoyed marching in Labor Day Parades for many years. After retiring, George took up golf, achieving not one, but two holes-in-one. He also enjoyed bowling and reading non-fiction. His favorite topics included politics, the military, history, and the mafia. Services will be hosted at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave., on Saturday, July 1. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Service with military honors will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery, 6382 Monroe St. A reception with refreshments will follow at Garden Park Christian/First Baptist Church, 6520 Pilliod Road, Holland. Raymond “Dale” Monce, born on January 27, 1947 of New Port Richey, Florida and Celina, Ohio passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023 in New Port Richey, Florida. Raymond was predeceased in death by his parents, his two sons, Ronald and Raymond, and his dog, Jake. Raymond is survived by his grandsons, Jayson, Daniel and Ronald, his brother, Tom and his sister, Arlene, nieces and nephews, his daughter-in-law, Amy, and his Miss Vicki’s on the River Family. Dale is an Army Veteran and a retired welder and member of the Plumbers, Pipefitters and Service Technicians UA Local #776, Union in Lima, Ohio. A Celebration of Life will be held for Raymond at Miss Vicki’s on the River on Monday, April 17, 2023 at 6:00.

James (Jim) Paul Vogt of Dover, Indiana, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on the afternoon of March 31, 2023. He was 84 years old.Jim, fondly known as PoPo, was born to Edward and Mildred (nee McMullen) in Cincinnati, Ohio, on March 15, 1939. He was a 1957 graduate of Elder High School, where he excelled on the gridiron for the Panthers. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving as a U.S. Army Paratrooper with Divisions of the 82nd, 101st, and 11th Airborne (Germany). Following his military service, he dedicated 37 years collectively as a proud Asbestos Workers and Pipefitters Union member.He was known as a free spirit with a penchant for learning languages, mainly German and Spanish, and was not shy about practicing with anyone who would listen. He was passionate about aviation and earned his private pilot's license while working full-time and raising a family. His reputation for being a skilled craftsman was unprecedented by his peers in the trades he worked in, and by the age of forty, he managed to build his first house with the help of his three sons and close friends working in various trades.Above all, he was a devoted husband to his childhood sweetheart, Marjory, a dedicated father, and a friend to many.He is survived by his wife Marjory (nee Buchert) of 60 years, and five children, Michael (Cindy), Mark (Shauna), Jimmy (Kim), Lori, Lisa (Tom), Grandfather of 12, and Great grandfather of 4.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer's Association, 644 Linn St., Suite 1026, Cincinnati, Ohio 45203. Gary R. McKinley, age 70, passed away on February 9, 2023, at 4:03 pm, at his residence surrounded by his family. Gary was born May 24, 1952, in Macon, GA, to Harold "Jim" J. and Susan (Lee) McKinley who preceded him in death. Gary is survived by his fiance, Melissa A. Selby of Lima, OH, sons: Jaret (Brenda) McKinley of Delphos, OH and Jake (Lydia) McKinley of Lima, OH, 3 grandchildren: Corbin, Adelyn and Morgan, 2 brothers: Dewey (Kathy) McKinley and Greg (Darcey) McKinley and his fur baby, "Piper Sue". He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Paige, a brother, Jim McKinley and his previous wife, June V. (Kill) McKinley. Gary was a 1970 graduate of Spencerville High School. He had also attended Texas A & M University and the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Instructor Training. Gary had worked with Plumbers and Pipefitters Local # 776 from 1977 until he retired in 2013. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Eagles. Gary also belonged to ABATE. He loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, golfing, "Tuesday Nights" with his golfing buddies at Fat Jacks, spending time at the Waiting Room, poker runs and grilling. When he was younger he had coached little league baseball for his sons and his bother Greg. He loved The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and was a lifetime fan of the music of John Prine. He will be remembered as being a dedicated father and grandfather and was a very generous person that would help people out in a way that wouldn't bring attention to himself. There will be a Celebration of Life Motorcycle procession starting at 12 noon on April 15, 2023 leaving the Eagles in Delphos traveling to his final resting place in the Spencerville Cemetery for burial of cremated remains and military honors that will be performed by the VFW and the U.S. Army at 1:00 pm. Following the cemetery services there will be a time of gathering and meal back at the Eagles in Delphos. Charles Joseph "Chick" Spicer Sr. 82 of New Straitsville passed away Sunday June 27, 2021, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born March 2, 1939, in Shawnee, a son of the late Frank and Marguerite (Fuchs) Spicer. Chick was a pipe fitter and member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local Union 776 Lima, Ohio; he was a U.S. Army Veteran; he enjoyed rooting for the Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State Buckeyes; he was a regular at the Spicer Brothers Wednesday Night Card game; he had a tremendous sense of humor and assisted Rosie with her landscaping. He is survived by his wife Rosie Mae Babbs Spicer; his children Charles J. (Kimberly) Spicer Jr., Theodore S. (Bonnie) Spicer and Diana R. (Kevin) Ackley; his brother Ellis "Jell" Spicer; grandchildren Holly Spicer, Heather (Mark) Casperson, Hannah Spicer and Brooke Ackley; great grandchildren Tenley and Savannah; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son Timothy W. Spicer; sister Catherine Daugherty; brothers Frank "Pete", John, William "Bill", and David "Ben" Spicer. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday July 2, 2021, at the New Straitsville United Methodist Church, with Pastor Lee Tabor officiating. Interment: Salem Cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Hocking County Combined Honor Guard. Following services, family and friends are invited to The Dunkle Building 104 West Railroad Street New Straitsville, to share in food and fellowship. Randy Joe Dickerson, 66 of Elliott County passed away at his home July 28th, 2021. Randy was born March 29, 1955 at Ashland, KY, the son of the late Charles E. and Emogene Howard Dickerson. He was a welder, a member of Local 776 as well as a member of Hepburn Lodge. He is survived by his loving wife, Lois Wilson Dickerson. Son, Stacey Joe Dickerson, a brother, Earl Beecher ”Dickie” Dickerson. He is also survived by his world, Alyssa Jo. Funeral will be Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home. Mark A. Rinehart, age 62, passed at 9:29 a.m., Friday, November 19, 2021 at St. Rita's Mercy Health. He was born April 20, 1959 in Lima, Ohio to the late Robert J. and Regina Anne (Ball) Rinehart. Mr. Rinehart was a pipefitter with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 776 of Lima and a member of the Pipefitters Union. In his younger years he enjoyed working on cars. He loved the outdoors and going camping with his family. He also helped the community while serving with the Wapakoneta Jayces for several years. He is survived by his 4 children - Bartholomew 'Bart' Rinehart of Celina; Joshua R. Rinehart of Wapakoneta; Shauna (Vince) Volpe of Columbus, Ohio; Amanda Rinehart of Wapakoneta; 5 grandchildren - Ayanna, Aaliyah, Jordan, Jacob, and Vail; a brother - Brett (Karen) Rinehart of Maple Grove, MN; 2 sisters - Beverly Duff of Celina and Bonita Rinehart. He was preceded in death by a brother - Bruce Rinehart, a brother-in-law - Karl Duff, and a sister-in-law Judy Rinehart. A gathering of friends and family will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
