Rodney L. Hughes, age 61, passed away January 7, 2022, at 8:43 am, at the Lima Memorial Health System. Rodney was born April 24, 1960, in Lima, OH, to Thomas H. and Donna S. Hughes who preceded him in death. On February 9, 2012, he married Lisa M. Makley Hughes who survives in Lakeview.
Rodney attended Allen East High School. He spent his career as a Pipefitter with Local #776. He belonged to the Indian Lake Moose Lodge and the Indian Lake Eagles. Rodney enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and good karaoke. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Rodney is survived by his children: Gregory Hughes of Lakeview, OH and Lindsey (Nicholas) Tomlinson of Tega Cay, SC, 3 grandchildren: Lorelai, Adler and Cecily, 4 siblings: Rhonda (Kent) Zimmerly of Lakeview, OH, Mark Hughes of Lima, OH, Thomas Michael (Tammy) Hughes of Lima, OH and Quintin (Carey Nichols) Hughes of Bluffton, OH.
There will be visitation held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 2-8 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Burial of cremated remains and a Celebration of Life will be held privately at a later date. Mark A. Rinehart, age 62, passed at 9:29 a.m., Friday, November 19, 2021 at St. Rita's Mercy Health. He was born April 20, 1959 in Lima, Ohio to the late Robert J. and Regina Anne (Ball) Rinehart. Mr. Rinehart was a pipefitter with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 776 of Lima and a member of the Pipefitters Union. In his younger years he enjoyed working on cars. He loved the outdoors and going camping with his family. He also helped the community while serving with the Wapakoneta Jayces for several years. He is survived by his 4 children - Bartholomew 'Bart' Rinehart of Celina; Joshua R. Rinehart of Wapakoneta; Shauna (Vince) Volpe of Columbus, Ohio; Amanda Rinehart of Wapakoneta; 5 grandchildren - Ayanna, Aaliyah, Jordan, Jacob, and Vail; a brother - Brett (Karen) Rinehart of Maple Grove, MN; 2 sisters - Beverly Duff of Celina and Bonita Rinehart. He was preceded in death by a brother - Bruce Rinehart, a brother-in-law - Karl Duff, and a sister-in-law Judy Rinehart. Randy Joe Dickerson, 66 of Elliott County passed away at his home July 28th, 2021. Randy was born March 29, 1955 at Ashland, KY, the son of the late Charles E. and Emogene Howard Dickerson. He was a welder, a member of Local 776 as well as a member of Hepburn Lodge. He is survived by his loving wife, Lois Wilson Dickerson. Son, Stacey Joe Dickerson, a brother, Earl Beecher ”Dickie” Dickerson. He is also survived by his world, Alyssa Jo. Funeral will be Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home. Charles Joseph "Chick" Spicer Sr. 82 of New Straitsville passed away Sunday June 27, 2021, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born March 2, 1939, in Shawnee, a son of the late Frank and Marguerite (Fuchs) Spicer. Chick was a pipe fitter and member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local Union 776 Lima, Ohio; he was a U.S. Army Veteran; he enjoyed rooting for the Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State Buckeyes; he was a regular at the Spicer Brothers Wednesday Night Card game; he had a tremendous sense of humor and assisted Rosie with her landscaping. He is survived by his wife Rosie Mae Babbs Spicer; his children Charles J. (Kimberly) Spicer Jr., Theodore S. (Bonnie) Spicer and Diana R. (Kevin) Ackley; his brother Ellis "Jell" Spicer; grandchildren Holly Spicer, Heather (Mark) Casperson, Hannah Spicer and Brooke Ackley; great grandchildren Tenley and Savannah; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son Timothy W. Spicer; sister Catherine Daugherty; brothers Frank "Pete", John, William "Bill", and David "Ben" Spicer. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday July 2, 2021, at the New Straitsville United Methodist Church, with Pastor Lee Tabor officiating. William “Bill” Ernest Darst, 86 of Lima, passed away March 1, 2022, at 8:55 am, at Otterbein Cridersville. Bill was born January 16, 1936 in Middleport, OH, to David and Clara Mae (Hamilton) Darst, who preceded him in death. He married Norma Willis Darst, who passed away. On June 27, 1992 he married Mary Ann (Kistner) Kinstle-Darst, who survives him in Lima. Bill was a 1953 graduate of Middleport High and went on to further his education at The Ohio State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 1957. He started as a school teacher in Pleasantville, Ohio, taught music at Perry and later worked for Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 776; he retired in 1998. Bill was a wonderful musician. He was 1st Trumpet in The Ohio State Marching Band, 1st Chair Trumpet in the Lima Symphony Orchestra and he won many state awards playing trumpet in high school. Bill played trumpet in a popular band, Penjendrum, for 13 years back in the 70s and 80s. He enjoyed ballroom dancing for many years; that is how he met his wife, Mary Ann, whom he adored. Bill was the owner of a Dairy Queen in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, he was an avid golfer who golfed in many leagues and he loved to watch all sports, especially Ohio State and the Cleveland Browns, but never the State Up North. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his children, Jeffrey Darst, Barbara (Greg) Moreland and Lara Darst; step-children, Rebecca (Bill) Bailey, Craig (Anna) Kinstle, Robert (Sandy) Kinstle and Linda (Tony) Raterman; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. LEIPSIC – Leroy Francis Goodwin, 90, of Leipsic, passed away at 9:02 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025, at his residence. He was born May 31, 1935, in Leipsic to the late S. Francis and Gladys (Eicher) Goodwin. On November 8, 1958, he married Nancy Ann Brooks, who preceded him in death on December 22, 2018. Survivors include two children: Amy L. Goodwin of Livonia, MI and Aaron L. (Linda) Goodwin of Findlay; two grandchildren: Jennifer (Robert) Frost and Angie (Steve) Boston; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Earl (Elsie) Goodwin. Leroy graduated from Leipsic High School, as well as Hobart Welding School in Troy, Ohio. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving from 1956 to 1958. Leroy was the proud owner of Goodwin Repair Welding Shop and retired after many years as a journeyman, pipefitter and welder. He was a member of New Hope Bethel United Methodist Church, OFES (Oil Field Engine Society), Blowtorch Collectors of America, EAA (Experimental Airplane Association) and the AOPA (Airplane Owners and Pilots Association). Leroy enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Ruth Carter-Crist officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic with military rites by Leipsic VFW, American Legion, Amvets and DAV. Walter H. “Wally” Kincaid, Jr., 72, of Lima passed away at 7:38 AM on Friday, February 4, 2022 at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born on April 10, 1949 in Lima, to Walter H. “Hig” Kincaid, Sr. and Rose Florence D’Amico, who both preceded him in death. On April 18, 1970, he married the love of his life, Peggy J. Clum, who survives in Lima. Wally was a pipefitter with Local Union 776 for 28 years. After which he purchased a Comfort Keepers franchise in 1999 and retired from that in June 2019 to pursue his favorite role as a son, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His hobbies included golfing, bowling, fishing, shooting pool, cooking, woodworking and entertaining everyone. He was truly a “jack of all trades”. He was a graduate of Shawnee High School, Class of 1968. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the Westside United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 96, VFW Post 1275, Eagle’s Aerie 370, Elks Lodge 54, Moose Lodge 199, Lima Lodge 205 F&AM, the Board of Senior Citizens and was an Eagle Scout mentor. Wally was never without a smile and a quick witted ornery joke. He never met a stranger and there was never a dull moment when he was around. Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 51 years, Peggy are his daughters Angie (Gregg Burgoon) Hickman of Lima and April (Robert Lizotte) Kincaid of Marysville; his five grandchildren Jonathan (Rima) Hickman, Katie (Cory) Simmons, Jase Hickman, McKena Hickman and Robert G. Lizotte and great-grandson Caden Simmons; his brother John (Wendy) Kincaid of Cridersville; his sisters Gina (Doug) Sanners of Ft. Myers, FL and Pam (Denise Maynard (d)) Cockerell of Valparaiso, IN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Marc A. Kincaid; son-in-law Jim Hickman; brother-in-law Jerry L. John W. Ulrey, 78, passed away on December 7, 2025, at 6:58 a.m. at Bowling Green Manor. John was born June 18, 1947, in Lima, OH, to Lawrence D. and Rebecca “Becky” (Grey) Ulrey, who both preceded him in death. John attended Lima Senior High School. In the 1970s, he owned a gas station in Lima. He later worked as a plumber and pipe fitter for more than thirty years with the Plumbers, Pipefitters, and Service Technicians Local #776. John enjoyed being outdoors and found peace in camping and fishing. He loved working on classic cars and attending various car shows. He always looked forward to the weekly Happy Daz car show and cherished his mornings at Happy Daz, having coffee with his retired friends. John loved his children and cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. Survivors include his daughters: Sandie Rose; Kathy (Jeff Agner) Ulrey of New Hampshire, OH; and Renee (Justin Hardesty) Vermillion of Lima, OH; grandchildren: Wesley (Sierra) Ulrey, Dylan Hopkins, Cheyanne (David Merz) Lambert, Madison Agner, Sean Agner, Brice Anderson, and Taylor Anderson; great-grandchildren: Owen, Vincent, and Sylas; and his brother, Brian (Diana) Ulrey of Lima, OH. James (Jim) Paul Vogt of Dover, Indiana, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on the afternoon of March 31, 2023. He was 84 years old.Jim, fondly known as PoPo, was born to Edward and Mildred (nee McMullen) in Cincinnati, Ohio, on March 15, 1939. He was a 1957 graduate of Elder High School, where he excelled on the gridiron for the Panthers. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving as a U.S. Army Paratrooper with Divisions of the 82nd, 101st, and 11th Airborne (Germany). Following his military service, he dedicated 37 years collectively as a proud Asbestos Workers and Pipefitters Union member.He was known as a free spirit with a penchant for learning languages, mainly German and Spanish, and was not shy about practicing with anyone who would listen. He was passionate about aviation and earned his private pilot's license while working full-time and raising a family. His reputation for being a skilled craftsman was unprecedented by his peers in the trades he worked in, and by the age of forty, he managed to build his first house with the help of his three sons and close friends working in various trades.Above all, he was a devoted husband to his childhood sweetheart, Marjory, a dedicated father, and a friend to many.He is survived by his wife Marjory (nee Buchert) of 60 years, and five children, Michael (Cindy), Mark (Shauna), Jimmy (Kim), Lori, Lisa (Tom), Grandfather of 12, and Great grandfather of 4.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer's Association, 644 Linn St., Suite 1026, Cincinnati, Ohio 45203. Raymond “Dale” Monce, born on January 27, 1947 of New Port Richey, Florida and Celina, Ohio passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023 in New Port Richey, Florida. Raymond was predeceased in death by his parents, his two sons, Ronald and Raymond, and his dog, Jake. Raymond is survived by his grandsons, Jayson, Daniel and Ronald, his brother, Tom and his sister, Arlene, nieces and nephews, his daughter-in-law, Amy, and his Miss Vicki’s on the River Family. Dale is an Army Veteran and a retired welder and member of the Plumbers, Pipefitters and Service Technicians UA Local #776, Union in Lima, Ohio. Joseph "Benny" Wukusick, age 95, was called to his Heavenly Home on November 23, 2025, at 8:45 pm, at St. Rita's Medical Center. Joseph was born on January 6, 1930, in Lima, OH, to Matthew and Teresa (Fagan) Wukusick, who both preceded him in death. On September 8, 1951, he married the love of his life, Cecelia "Mickie" Wukusick, who preceded him in death on May 29, 2002. After graduating from St. Johns High School, he started an apprenticeship with the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union at 18 years old. He was soon drafted to the U.S. Army where he faithfully served his country for 2 years. Joseph was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union for almost 77 years. He loved his occupation, and he did it well. He was also a member of the Lima Eagles #370, the American Legion Post 96, the Orioles Nest 173, and the Knights of Columbus #2661. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was also passionate about gardening and maintaining his flower beds. He especially loved roses. Above all, he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. His perfectionism, dedication to his family, and love for others will be fondly remembered and missed by many. He is survived by his 3 children, Laura Wukusick of Lima, Thomas (Kathy) Wukusick of Waynesfield, and Sandra Titus of Wapakoneta, his 7 grandchildren, his 17 great-grandchildren, and his sister-in-law, Betty Wukusick. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Carl "Bud" Wukusick, Ann (Don) Marshall, and Mary (Frank) Barton, and his son-in-law, Richard Titus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Father Mike Sergi to officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery following the service. Dennis C. "Buzzy" Bauman of Lima, passed away on April 28, 2025, at the age of 78. He celebrated nearly 55 years of marriage to his wife Pam and fathered two sons, Nate and Andy. Denny was a graduate of Lima Central Catholic (class of '64). He served honorably in Vietnam with the Army. He was also a loyal member of the Knights of Columbus, (Council 2661). He worked as a pipe fitter (Local 776) for over 30 years until his retirement in 2006. "Buzzy" loved fishing, traveling, attending baseball games and playing euchre with his family and friends. He truly loved spending time in his backyard garden where he consistently produced a multitude of vegetables that he unselfishly shared with neighbors, family and friends. Dennis "Buzzy" Bauman was a wonderful Husband, an amazing Father and a dear Friend. The lasting impact he had on the people he knew and loved during his lifetime will never be forgotten. Also surviving are Nate's wife, Anna, and grandchildren: Jacob Bauman, Brayden Bauman, Ethan Bauman and Hudson Bauman. Larry E. Ellerbrock, 80, of Ottawa, passed away at 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 31, 1944, in Lima to the late Norbert W. and Marie C. (Castle) Ellerbrock. On September 10, 1966, he married Christine Piotrowski, who survives in Ottawa. He is also survived by four children: Randy (Sue Fiorucci) Ellerbrock of Delaware, Lisa Alt of Ottawa, Brian (Tanya) Ellerbrock of Ottawa and Stacey (BJ) Baxter of Columbus Grove; thirteen grandchildren: Kyle (Jaimee) Ellerbrock, Kendal Ellerbrock, Derek (Portia) Alt, Nathan (Makenna) Alt, Jordan (Max) Kuhlman, Taylor (Trevor Siefker) Alt, Noah Ellerbrock, Emma Ellerbrock, Nicholas Ellerbrock, Braylon Baxter, Trevon Baxter, Gavin Baxter and Aiden Baxter; four great-grandchildren with one on the way; two sisters: Barb Feathers of Delphos and Becky Bentz of Lima; and two sisters-in-law: Bev Ellerbrock of Bluffton, IN and Elaine Ellerbrock of Garland, TX. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Rodney Alt; four brothers: Fred (Carol) Ellerbrock, Keith Ellerbrock, Tom Ellerbrock and Mike Ellerbrock; and two brothers-in-law: Paul Feathers and Ron Bentz. Larry retired as a pipefitter for Local 776 PLB and Pipefitters. He was a U.S. Marine veteran, where he served as Sargent E-5 during peacetime. He was a member of the American Legion, Ottawa Eagles, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and was past president of the SPPS and OG Boosters Club. Larry was the life of the party, biggest official bullshitter and never knew a stranger. He loved drinking Miller Lite, fishing, cooking chicken, canoeing down the Blanchard and wishing everyone a “Larry Christmas!” Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Steve Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Ottawa American Legion, VFW, Amvets and DAV. Herbert Miller was born July 17, 1960, in Clay County, Kentucky and departed this life Saturday November 16, 2024, at his residence being 64 years of age. He was the son of the late Roy and Leathie (Pennington) Miller. Herbert is survived by his wife Cheryl (Witt) Miller and by the following children: Thomas Miller of Ohio, Wes Bishop of London, Alexis Hacker and her husband Joe of McKee and Ashley Johnson and her husband Wes of London. He is also survived by the following siblings: Dennis Miller of Sand Gap, a very special brother, David Miller and wife Sandra of Tyner, Judy Witt and her husband Ronnie of McKee, Thelma Estes of Columbia, Kentucky and Betty Cottongin and her husband Walt of Alexandria, Kentucky. He was blessed with four grandchildren: Eli Johnson, Luke Johnson, Reece Hacker and his special little princess Jocia Hacker and a special niece Sharon Brown. Other than his parents Herbert was preceded in death by one brother Eddie Miller. Herbert was a member of the Seven Pines Pentecostal church and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Thomas Milton Wehner, 90, of Wapakoneta, died 6:36 a.m., Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Wapakoneta Manor, with his family at his side. He was born August 26, 1934, in Wapakoneta, OH, the son of the late Milton W. and Eleanor F. (Klein) Wehner. On May 15, 1965, he married Patricia J. Schaub, and she survives. Other survivors include 3 children, Annette J. (Keith Larmi) Wehner, Worthington, OH, Craig T. (Elizabeth) Wehner, Grove City, OH, Brenna K. Palmer, Wapakoneta; daughter-in-law, Vickie Wehner, Wapakoneta; 10 grandchildren, Thomas, Benjamin, Kaleigh, Matthew, Stella, Finn, Charles, (twins) Hannah and Lauren, and Milton; siblings, Suzanne (Allen) Ciaglo, St. Clair Shores, MI, Dennis (Mary) Wehner, Croton, OH. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas M. Wehner, a brother, Francis Wehner, and 2 sisters, Judith Elliston, and Rosemary Ward. Tom retired as a plumber-pipefitter with the Plumber and Pipe Fitters Union Local #776, Lima. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and a life member of the K of C Council #1272, both of Wapakoneta. Tom was a 1953 graduate of St. Joseph High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed attending auctions and usually coming home with something he thought he needed. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, with Chaplain Mark Lovely officiating. Larry Leon Price, 84 of Sandy Hook, KY passed away Friday May 30, 20225 at his residence. He was born November 9,1940 at Buchannan, KY the son of the late Homer and Belle Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife Odella Price as well as two siblings Lottie Bair and Sherman Price. Larry was a Christian and member of the Newfoundland Community Church. He was a Navy Veteran and belonged to Elliott County VFW Post 11428. He was a retired pipefitter. He is survived by his three loving children: Larry Dean Price of Morehead, KY, Jeff Price of Sandy Hook, KY and Missy Barker of Sandy Hook, KY. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Logan Adkins, Emily Price, Jayden Barker, Alarra Barker, Kyra Howell and Justin Rose. Funeral will be conducted Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home at Sandy Hook, KY with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at the Elliott County Memory Gardens with Elliott County VFW Post 11428 honoring him for his service as a Navy Veteran.

James Douglas Hempker, age 76, passed away at 9:35 p.m. on Friday November 11, 2022, surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home after a brave and courageous battle with Mesothelioma. James was born September 7, 1946 in Lima, OH, to the late James M. and Virginia C. (Williams) Hempker. On August 8, 1970 he married his wife of 52 years, Cheryl (Riner) Hempker. James was a 1964 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He served in the 9th Infantry and was awarded the National Defense Medal, Expert Rifle Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with a Bronze Service star and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. James retired in 2005 from the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #776 after 37 years of service. James was an avid sportsman, enjoyed deer hunting and he especially loved spending time maintaining his property. Most of all, James was a proud husband, dad and grandpa who loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; three children, Jeffrey (Carol) Hempker of Cumming, GA, Jennifer (Craig) Shivley of Lima and James C. (Rebecca) Hempker of Troy; seven grandchildren, Jordan (Brittany) Hempker, Jacob (Destiny) Shivley, Benjamin Hempker, Jack Shivley, Elise Hempker, Emma Hempker, Matthew Hempker and one great-grandchild on the way; three sisters, Pam Hunt, Mary (Mike) Caprella, Wanda (Joe) Hornung, brother, Dennis Hempker and his best friend, Louie Treglia. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Tom Hempker. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. Father David Ross will officiate the service and burial will follow in Shawnee Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and the VFW #1275. Gary R. McKinley, age 70, passed away on February 9, 2023, at 4:03 pm, at his residence surrounded by his family. Gary was born May 24, 1952, in Macon, GA, to Harold "Jim" J. and Susan (Lee) McKinley who preceded him in death. Gary is survived by his fiance, Melissa A. Selby of Lima, OH, sons: Jaret (Brenda) McKinley of Delphos, OH and Jake (Lydia) McKinley of Lima, OH, 3 grandchildren: Corbin, Adelyn and Morgan, 2 brothers: Dewey (Kathy) McKinley and Greg (Darcey) McKinley and his fur baby, "Piper Sue". He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Paige, a brother, Jim McKinley and his previous wife, June V. (Kill) McKinley. Gary was a 1970 graduate of Spencerville High School. He had also attended Texas A & M University and the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Instructor Training. Gary had worked with Plumbers and Pipefitters Local # 776 from 1977 until he retired in 2013. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Eagles. Gary also belonged to ABATE. He loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, golfing, "Tuesday Nights" with his golfing buddies at Fat Jacks, spending time at the Waiting Room, poker runs and grilling. When he was younger he had coached little league baseball for his sons and his bother Greg. He loved The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and was a lifetime fan of the music of John Prine. He will be remembered as being a dedicated father and grandfather and was a very generous person that would help people out in a way that wouldn't bring attention to himself. There will be a Celebration of Life Motorcycle procession starting at 12 noon on April 15, 2023 leaving the Eagles in Delphos traveling to his final resting place in the Spencerville Cemetery for burial of cremated remains and military honors that will be performed by the VFW and the U.S. Army at 1:00 pm. Following the cemetery services there will be a time of gathering and meal back at the Eagles in Delphos.
